About 6 months ago I finally jumped on the smart phone bandwagon and picked up an HTC Hero from Sprint. At the time not only was that one of the best Android phones on the market Sprints monthly plans were very competitive. Lately I’ve been seeing, as you probably have, these images popping up everywhere. From websites to magazine articles to beer cans. I remember a few years back reading about Augmented Reality using something that looked like this. Well apparently these are mostly used for web links, phone numbers and text.

All you need is a nifty little bar code scanner app and pow your phone is able to read these little guys.
