What started off as a hobby over a decade ago has become a full blown obsession in the last 30 days.  Every free moment I have had over the last month has been dedicated to riding or research on riding.  Everything form riding through corner tips to must have accessories, you name it I have probably read about it or practiced on my new bike.

Speaking of my new bike.

I’m very proud of it.  

“It” being a 2006 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic.  Why?  I knew I wanted a cruiser bike, the idea of being hunched over for god knows how long on a sports bike just doesn’t sound like fun.  Going fast and being stupid is what dirt bikes are for, in my opinion street biking is all about the ride.  Kicking back and enjoying a comfy cruise to wherever the road may take you.  Not to mention, I just like the way they look.  Maybe its some remnants of my long haired rocker days creeping back, I don’t know.  What I do know is that I needed to find a good, reliable beginners bike that I wasn’t going to need to “upgrade” in a year or two.  After many, many months of reading and looking around I finally decided on the v-stars.  Their user recommendation, said reliability and price I just couldn’t beat.  Once I finaly sat on one and heard it purr I was sold. 

 So what’s next?  Practice and modifications!  There are a lot of accessories and mods out there that I would love to geek out and apply to my bike.  The goal of this blog is to keep track of what I have done, what I am doing and what I am going to do.  At least that’s the goal, we’ll see how well I stick to it.
